It feels rough and looks dull all the way down. Coarse and curly textures are naturally drier because sebum struggles to travel the shaft.

It can feel oily at the root and papery at the ends, and it goes limp in humidity. Heat and hard water are the usual culprits.

A simple three-step routine

Wash less aggressively
Use a hydrating shampoo and lukewarm water. Hot water strips the very oils you are trying to keep.

Put water back in
A moisturising mask weekly, on damp not soaking hair. Squeeze the excess water out first or you are diluting the treatment.

Lock it in with oil
Water without a seal evaporates. A leave-in or a few drops of argan oil on the mid-lengths keeps the hydration where you put it.
